An exciting opportunity awaits for a dedicated Occupational Therapist to make an impact in local schools as part of a full-time contract position covering maternity leave. Work within a supportive team, providing school-based OT services across multiple sites in the area on an itinerant schedule.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

  • Current, active Occupational Therapist license issued by the state of North Carolina
  • Previous experience providing occupational therapy in a school setting strongly preferred
  • Solid knowledge of ECATS (Exceptional Children Accountability Tracking System)
  • Excellent communication skills, able to collaborate with teachers, staff, students, and families
  • Strong organizational skills and adaptability with an itinerant, multi-campus schedule

Role Responsibilities:

  • Manage a diverse caseload by delivering occupational therapy assessments, interventions, and documentation as per IEP plans
  • Travel between sites to support students at W.R. Odell, Mary Frances Wall Center, and potentially additional schools
  • Partner with special education staff to implement therapy strategies and supports within classroom routines
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation, and timely reporting using ECATS
  • Actively participate in team meetings, parent conferences, and program planning as needed

This contract position offers the chance to develop relationships and support student achievement in a collaborative setting. The assignment is scheduled to begin as soon as possible and tentatively runs through January 2027, providing consistency and professional growth over an extended period.
