Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a full-time Occupational Therapist for the 2026-2027 school year. This role is based in the Independence, KS area and makes a true impact by supporting students' independence, development, and academic success. You’ll collaborate closely with educators, families, and school teams to deliver creative, personalized interventions across a caseload that will be shared shortly.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution
  • Valid Kansas Occupational Therapist license (or eligibility pending state requirements)
  • Experience in school-based OT settings; additional background in healthcare or home health is highly valued
  • Strong knowledge of student evaluation, treatment planning, and progress monitoring
  • Excellent communication skills for partnership with teachers, families, and support staff
  • Ability to adapt to dynamic environments and serve diverse student populations

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments to identify students’ strengths and areas needing support
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with IEP teams
  • Deliver direct and consultative OT services, either in classrooms or other school settings
  • Document interventions, track student outcomes, and support compliance with federal/state regulations
  • Collaborate with school professionals and families to ensure holistic support for each student
  • Participate in team meetings, professional learning opportunities, and case reviews
