This contract position near Chicago, IL spans the entire 2026-2027 school year and offers an enriching opportunity to assist high school and transition-aged students in achieving their academic and developmental goals. With 37.5 hours per week, you'll engage with learners across the cooperative, helping each student reach their fullest potential with individualized interventions.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Illinois Occupational Therapy license
- Clinical skills in both school-based and home health occupational therapy settings
- Demonstrated proficiency in fine and gross motor skill evaluation and intervention
- Experience working with adolescents and young adults (grades 9 through transition)
- Ability to collaborate with educational teams and families to create effective support strategies
- Strong organizational skills and adaptability across multiple school settings
Position Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of students' motor and functional abilities
- Develop and implement individualized OT interventions to enhance participation and independence in school routines
- Collaborate with teachers, special education teams, and families to tailor therapy plans
- Document progress, generate reports, and participate in IEP meetings as required
- Provide services cooperative-wide, addressing needs across multiple schools or programs
- Maintain professional and ethical standards while fostering a positive, supportive atmosphere
This is a Monday-Friday position, with staff hours from 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM and a 30-minute duty-free lunch. As a valued OT professional, you'll play a key role in student progress while gaining experience across a vibrant and diverse educational setting.
