Qualifications & Skills:

  • Valid Occupational Therapist (OT) license in Illinois
  • Previous experience as a school-based OT, or strong clinical pediatric OT background
  • Ability to conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and document student progress effectively
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to consult with teachers, staff, and families
  • Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
  • Familiarity with IEP (Individualized Education Program) processes and special education laws
  • Compassion, creativity, and enthusiasm for student development

Position Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate students to identify functional needs impacting their academic performance
  • Design and implement targeted interventions and therapy in both individual and group settings
  • Document assessment findings, progress notes, and contribute to multidisciplinary team reports
  • Support classroom adaptations to promote student access and participation
  • Educate and collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to ensure carry-over of strategies
  • Participate in IEP meetings, sharing expertise to foster student success
  • Maintain compliance with all state and federal special education regulations
