Desired Experience & Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
  • Active Illinois OT license (or eligibility)
  • Prior experience delivering OT services in a school environment preferred
  • Familiarity with IEPs, assessments, and development of individualized plans
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to adapt strategies to diverse elementary, middle, or high school populations
  • Dedication to fostering an inclusive and positive learning environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments to evaluate students’ sensory, developmental, and functional abilities
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans targeting students’ educational needs
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, special education staff, and families to support IEP goals
  • Provide direct occupational therapy services, both one-on-one and in small groups
  • Document student progress, write reports, and participate in IEP meetings
  • Offer consultation and training to school staff regarding best practices and classroom accommodations
  • Stay current with trends and innovations in school-based occupational therapy
