Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid Occupational Therapist (OT) license in the state of Illinois
- Prior experience working as an OT in a school-based or pediatric setting preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP processes and best practices for therapy in educational environments
- Excellent communication and collaborative skills to work with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to create individualized plans and adapt services for diverse student needs
- Compassionate, patient, and flexible approach
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to determine students’ occupational therapy needs
- Develop and implement personalized therapy plans in alignment with IEP goals
- Provide direct therapy services to students individually or in groups
- Maintain detailed documentation of student progress, session notes, and data collection
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to support carryover of strategies within the classroom
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to ongoing IEP development
- Offer consultation and training for school personnel on strategies for supporting student engagement and success
