Occupational Therapist School Setting in Citrus Heights, CA

Step into a fulfilling contract role supporting students’ growth through occupational therapy in a collaborative academic environment near Citrus Heights, CA. This full-time assignment begins August 11th and extends through June 10th, with opportunities to continue into the 2025-2026 school year. You’ll provide both direct intervention and consultative services to a caseload of approximately 50 students, working primarily with general education and mild/moderate student populations.

Your expertise will be instrumental in helping students develop essential skills for classroom and daily life success. Use your creativity and clinical knowledge to design interventions, collaborate with educators, and empower children to thrive in the school setting.

Qualifications:

• Valid California licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT)
• Previous experience working in school settings preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for partnering with teachers, support staff, and families
• Familiarity with IEP processes and documentation requirements
• Ability to manage a diverse caseload and adapt strategies to individual needs
• Friendly, compassionate, and flexible approach

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and participate in eligibility determinations
• Deliver direct OT services and consult with staff to implement classroom accommodations
• Develop and update Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals
• Document student progress, maintaining compliance with school district guidelines
• Serve as a resource for strategies that enhance student participation and independence
