Job Title: School-Based Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

Location: Clovis, NM

Status: Full-Time (37.5 Hours/Week)

Term: 2026-2027 School Year (August 10, 2026 – May 20, 2027)

Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated and collaborative Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our educational team in the Clovis, NM area for the upcoming school year. In this role, you will work under the supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist (OTR) to deliver high-quality therapeutic services that help students achieve their educational and developmental goals.

Position Details

  • Setting: Educational environment (K-12)

  • Schedule: 37.5 hours per week

  • Dates: August 10, 2026 – May 20, 2027

  • Location: Clovis, NM area

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement therapeutic interventions based on student IEP goals and treatment plans.

  • Work directly with students to improve fine motor skills, sensory integration, and self-care abilities.

  • Assist the OTR in collecting data and documenting student progress.

  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to provide modifications and support within the learning environment.

  • Prepare and maintain materials and equipment for therapy sessions.

  • Participate in team meetings and provide input on student performance and adjustments to treatment.

Requirements

  • Licensure: Must hold an active New Mexico State COTA License.

  • Certification: NBCOT certification required.

  • Education: Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.

  • Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to follow complex treatment plans with precision and empathy.

  • Experience: Previous experience in a pediatric or school setting is preferred.
