Occupational Therapist School Setting in Cranston, RI

Desired Qualifications:

• Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
• Background in pediatric or school-based settings is a plus
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with teachers, administrators, and families
• Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans within the school environment
• Creative and flexible approach to meet the unique needs of each student

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide occupational therapy services to students, focusing on fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, and adaptive techniques
• Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine students’ needs and progress
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and execute IEP goals and objectives
• Maintain thorough and accurate documentation as per school and state requirements
• Offer strategies and support to teachers and families to optimize students’ academic and functional performance
• Adapt interventions for both group and individual student needs
