Skills & Experience Needed:

  • Valid Occupational Therapist (OT) license in Connecticut
  • Previous experience working within school environments preferred
  • Strong understanding of pediatric OT assessment tools and intervention techniques
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with teachers, families, and other service providers
  • Ability to effectively manage a varied caseload across different grade levels
  • Proficiency in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting diverse learners

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students as outlined in their IEPs
  • Conduct assessments to identify students’ needs and strengths
  • Develop targeted treatment plans and document progress
  • Collaborate with educators, administrators, and families to ensure coordinated support and goal attainment
  • Actively participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary teams
  • Deliver engaging therapy sessions both one-on-one and in group formats
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation, adhering to district and state requirements
