Skills & Experience Needed:
- Valid Occupational Therapist (OT) license in Connecticut
- Previous experience working within school environments preferred
- Strong understanding of pediatric OT assessment tools and intervention techniques
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with teachers, families, and other service providers
- Ability to effectively manage a varied caseload across different grade levels
- Proficiency in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting diverse learners
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students as outlined in their IEPs
- Conduct assessments to identify students’ needs and strengths
- Develop targeted treatment plans and document progress
- Collaborate with educators, administrators, and families to ensure coordinated support and goal attainment
- Actively participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary teams
- Deliver engaging therapy sessions both one-on-one and in group formats
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, adhering to district and state requirements
