Embark on a rewarding 6-8 week contract assignment as an Occupational Therapist or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, working with a diverse group of K-12 students at a single school site. This full-time opportunity begins in January and offers the chance to make a positive impact in a supportive educational environment near Dearborn, MI.
Desired Background & Qualifications:
- Active Occupational Therapist (OTR) or COTA licensure in Michigan
- Recent experience in a school setting, working with K-12 populations
- Familiarity with IEP development, goal setting, and progress monitoring
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with teachers, parents, and staff
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage a caseload
- Passion for helping students achieve their potential through evidence-based interventions
Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative therapy services to a caseload of approximately 50 students
- Conduct assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and contribute to IEP meetings
- Create engaging and adaptive activities for students with varying abilities
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting interventions as needed
- Collaborate with educational teams to promote student success in classroom and school settings
