Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Current licensure and certification as an Occupational Therapist in the state of Michigan
- Previous experience working within school settings is highly preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP processes and compliance
- Ability to collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student development
- Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet diverse students’ needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted occupational therapy services to students with a range of needs as outlined in their IEPs
- Conduct assessments to determine students’ functional levels and recommend appropriate interventions
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams—including educators and speech/language or physical therapists—to ensure a cohesive approach to student care
- Develop and monitor individualized goals, then document progress and maintain accurate therapy records
- Support teachers by recommending strategies and accommodations for students within the classroom environment
- Attend and participate in IEP meetings as needed
