Desired Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Current licensure to practice as an Occupational Therapist in Illinois
- At least six months of experience in a school-based setting preferred
- Strong understanding of educational environments and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and parents
- Ability to assess, plan, and implement therapy interventions tailored to each student’s unique needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to identify students’ needs related to fine motor skills, sensory processing, and self-care
- Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and families to develop and implement IEP goals
- Deliver individual and group therapy sessions focused on targeted skill development
- Maintain accurate documentation, progress notes, and reports in accordance with school and state requirements
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, contributing your expertise to comprehensive support plans
- Offer recommendations for classroom modifications and adaptive equipment when needed
- Support transitions and inclusion activities to foster students’ participation in all aspects of the school day
