With a manageable caseload of 25 students, you’ll provide crucial occupational therapy services to early intervention and elementary-aged learners, making a meaningful impact every day.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the state of Illinois
- Previous experience working with children in school settings, particularly early intervention and elementary populations
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with teachers, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Ability to devise and implement individualized therapy plans
- Enthusiasm for fostering self-care, fine motor, and sensory skills in young students
- Flexibility and adaptability to support a diverse student community
What You’ll Do:
- Conduct assessments and develop specialized treatment plans for students aged early intervention through elementary
- Deliver direct therapy services, working both one-on-one and in small groups
- Maintain organized records and progress notes in compliance with school guidelines
- Consult with classroom teachers and other staff to integrate OT strategies into daily routines
- Involve families in the therapeutic process, offering strategies and resources for continued growth at home
- Maintain regular communication to monitor progress and adjust interventions as needed
