Step into a dynamic school-based setting serving K-12 students and put your occupational therapy expertise to work making a meaningful difference. A full-time, contract opportunity is available for an Occupational Therapist or COTA for a 6-8 week assignment beginning this January. You’ll work closely with a caseload of approximately 50 students in a supportive, single-school environment near Detroit, focusing on empowering each child’s individual abilities.
Bring your passion for pediatrics and education to this role, where you’ll develop and implement therapy interventions that address a variety of student needs. You’ll collaborate with educators and families to help every learner flourish academically, socially, and functionally.
Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in Michigan
- Experience working with pediatric or school-age populations strongly preferred
- Knowledge of IEP processes and documentation
- Ability to design and adapt interventions for diverse learners
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with school staff, students, and families
- Organizational skills to manage caseload and documentation efficiently
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct therapy services and group interventions for students K-12
- Conduct evaluations, develop treatment plans, and contribute to IEPs
- Maintain thorough and timely documentation as required by school policies
- Educate and consult with teachers and support staff to facilitate student progress
- Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings and school initiatives
