Embark on a rewarding assignment where your expertise in occupational therapy will have a lasting impact on students' lives. A contract opportunity is available for either an Occupational Therapist or a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant for a 6-8 week assignment beginning in January. This full-time role will have you working with approximately 50 students within a single K-12 school, located near vibrant Detroit, MI.

In this dynamic educational environment, you’ll use your skills to support students of varying ages, helping them develop, improve, or recover the skills needed for daily living and academic success. The position offers the chance to make meaningful connections and provide continuity of care for students throughout the assignment.

Qualifications:

  • Active Michigan licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
  • Experience working in a school-based setting preferred
  • Familiarity with the needs of K-12 students and individualized education programs (IEPs)
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills for teaming with educators, staff, and families
  • Ability to organize and manage caseload efficiently

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct therapy services to a caseload of 50 K-12 students
  • Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to students’ academic and functional needs
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to integrate OT strategies into the classroom and home
  • Document student progress and participate in IEP meetings as needed
  • Adapt services as required to support diverse learners in a school environment
