School Occupational Therapist | Detroit, Michigan

Embark on a dynamic contract assignment this January as a dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). This full-time position takes place in a vibrant K-12 school setting, working closely with a manageable caseload of approximately 50 students on a single campus. Desired Qualifications & Experience:

• Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) with current credentialing in Michigan
• Previous experience in pediatric or school-based occupational therapy strongly preferred
• Ability to develop and implement effective IEPs and therapy interventions tailored to individual student needs
• Strong communication and collaborative skills to consult with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
• Comfortable supporting a diverse K-12 student population and adapting to various developmental levels

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine individual student needs and eligibility for OT services
• Develop and deliver evidence-based therapy sessions to improve students’ functional participation in academics and daily school routines
• Monitor progress, document outcomes, and adjust interventions as needed
• Collaborate with general and special education staff to integrate therapeutic strategies in the classroom
• Offer consultation to educators and families to promote skill development and independence
• Maintain compliance with all documentation and reporting requirements
