Step into a rewarding contract opportunity where you’ll make a direct impact by supporting students during Extended School Year (ESY) programming. As an Occupational Therapist, you’ll work with a diverse caseload of approximately 21 to 25 students ranging from elementary through high school ages. Flexible scheduling allows for a dynamic and adaptable workday, as sessions are set based on when families are able to bring in their children.

In this essential role, your skills in school-based occupational therapy will help shape students’ learning experiences and support their functional independence in the classroom environment. You’ll collaborate with other educators and families to develop and implement tailored interventions that address students’ unique needs.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid Occupational Therapist license for the state of Michigan
  • Experience in school-based settings or pediatric populations highly preferred
  • Ability to adapt strategies to meet individual student goals for elementary, middle, and high school levels
  • Effective communication skills for working with students, parents, and professional staff
  • Committed to fostering an inclusive, supportive atmosphere for diverse learners

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide occupational therapy services to a caseload of approximately 21-25 students (including 11 elementary, 7 middle school, and 2 high school students)
  • Assess students’ abilities and collaborate on individualized intervention plans
  • Deliver therapy sessions during the ESY period beginning the third week of June
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation for student progress and compliance
  • Consult with educators and families to support student development and transfer of skills to classroom and home environments
