Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students as an in-person Occupational Therapist (OTR) working on a full-time, contract basis for the entire school year. Serving schools near Detroit, MI, you'll play a key role in helping children develop crucial skills for academic and personal success, all while working within a collaborative and supportive educational environment.
What we're seeking:
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Active and valid OTR license in Michigan
- Previous experience as a school-based Occupational Therapist is highly desirable
- Strong collaboration skills to work closely with educators, staff, and parents
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities
- Adaptability to support diverse student needs across multiple grade levels
What you'll do:
- Assess students to identify motor, sensory, and functional challenges impacting classroom participation
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans tailored to students’ IEP goals
- Provide direct OT services that promote skill development for self-care, classroom tasks, and play activities
- Maintain accurate records of services, evaluations, and progress monitoring
- Consult with teachers and parents, offering strategies to integrate therapy goals into the daily classroom experience
- Participate in IEP meetings, contributing professional insight for student success
- Support a positive, inclusive learning environment for all students
