Embark on a meaningful contract opportunity supporting students as a part-time Occupational Therapist in a school setting near Detroit, MI. You’ll play a crucial role in enhancing the educational experiences for approximately 25 students—primarily at the elementary level—by fostering their independence and participation in the classroom.
Your schedule will cover 2 1/2 days each week during regular school hours (8:35am - 3:38pm), giving you the chance to make a direct impact while maintaining work-life balance. As you collaborate with educators and families, your expertise will help meet the unique needs of each learner.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current Michigan Occupational Therapist license
- Master’s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy
- Experience in school-based settings is a plus, but motivated new graduates are welcomed
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to a caseload of about 25 students, tailoring interventions to support IEP goals
- Work primarily with elementary-aged children, while also providing services as needed to support the wider district
- Engage in evaluations, create and document therapy plans, track student progress, and collaborate with school staff and families
- Help students develop functional skills for academic, social, and daily living success in a supportive school environment
