School Occupational Therapist - Detroit, Michigan

With a school year running through to June 2027, you’ll play a key role in fostering independence and enhancing daily living skills for students requiring OT support.

Key Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy required
• Valid state licensure to practice as an occupational therapist
• Experience in a school-based environment is strongly preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, teachers, and families
• Must be able to manage an independent caseload without COTA assistance (school cannot provide supervision for COTAs)
• Excellent organizational abilities and adaptability in a multi-site role

Primary Responsibilities:

• Conduct evaluations and assess students’ functional skills within a school setting
• Develop and implement individualized intervention and therapy plans in collaboration with educational teams
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation on student progress and service delivery
• Work directly with 30-40 students ranging in needs, providing both direct therapy and consultative services
• Collaborate regularly with teachers, administrators, and families to support student goals
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to comprehensive student reports
• Deliver services exclusively onsite across various school locations
