Occupational Therapist School Setting in Douglasville, GA

Step into a meaningful school-based role supporting the growth and achievement of 5th and 6th graders as an Occupational Therapist. This part-time opportunity involves direct therapeutic services for two students, focusing on enhancing their skills and participation within the educational setting. Qualifications & Experience Sought:

• Must hold a valid Georgia Occupational Therapist license and GaPSC Certificate
• Previous school-based OT experience is strongly preferred
• Background in working with students with disabilities is a plus
• Clearance documentation required in accordance with state and school policies
• Ability and commitment to deliver onsite services only

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver hands-on occupational therapy to two 5th/6th grade students (30 minutes per week, per student; ideal start time is 2:30 PM)
• Provide therapy aligned with students’ IEPs, including assessment of fine motor, sensory, and functional skills
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and special educators to shape a supportive classroom environment
• Recommend adaptations, modifications, and strategies to help students access instruction
• Track progress, maintain thorough documentation, and engage in ongoing communication with the school team
• Ensure all services comply with relevant regulations and IEP requirements
