Step into an impactful contract role as an Occupational Therapist, working with students and educators in a supportive educational environment near Murphysboro, Illinois. You'll have the opportunity to use your specialized skills to help students achieve their greatest potential throughout the academic year.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current Occupational Therapist licensure in Illinois, or eligibility to obtain one prior to the assignment start
  • Previous experience in a school-based setting preferred
  • Strong understanding of pediatric occupational therapy best practices
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, staff, and families
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Commitment to fostering student independence and participation in the educational environment

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and evidence-based occupational therapy services to students with varying needs from August 2026 through May 2027
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized therapy plans in conjunction with IEP teams and other support staff
  • Assess students’ functional abilities and provide recommendations for classroom modifications or adaptive equipment
  • Document student progress, maintain compliance with regulations, and participate in meetings as required
  • Consult with teachers and families to support the transfer of skills beyond the therapy setting
  • Support ongoing caseload needs (to be determined and set prior to start)
