A full-time Occupational Therapist (OT) opportunity is available in Durham, NC, serving students within the Durham Public Schools district. This role is ideal for a dedicated therapist interested in providing school-based services and supporting the developmental needs of children, primarily at the elementary level. The assignment is a travel position requiring on-site presence with no remote or hybrid options.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver occupational therapy services directly to students following individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including educators, administrators, and families to support student progress.
  • Complete required documentation and maintain compliance with state and district regulations.
  • Provide coverage for an FMLA-related absence, with the contract expected to extend through at least January.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current, active North Carolina OT licensure is mandatory.
  • Experience working within school settings, preferably with elementary-aged children.
  • Ability to obtain or hold a North Carolina Department of Education background check; while not immediately required, it is preferred.
  • Commitment to working full-time hours (37.5 hours per week) with no availability for part-time schedules.
  • COTA candidates will not be considered for this role.

Location and Schedule:

  • Position located in the Research Triangle area, specifically Durham.
  • Full-time, on-site role with hours aligned to school schedules.
  • Assignment begins as soon as possible and will continue at least through the end of the school year in June 2026.
