Step into an impactful role supporting young learners and their families through occupational therapy services in a birth-to-5 program. This contract position offers the opportunity to provide essential assistance in both Head Start and Early Head Start settings across multiple sites, while enjoying a flexible, part-time schedule of two days per week. The assignment covers the entire school year, allowing you to establish meaningful connections with students, families, and colleagues.
What we’re looking for:
- Licensed Occupational Therapist with experience or enthusiasm for working in school settings
- Previous involvement in early childhood and/or birth-to-5 programs
- Strong understanding of IEPs and collaborative processes with district personnel
- Adaptability to work across three sites, with support from a designated home base
- Skills in guiding and assisting home visitors supporting students with ISSPs/IEPs
- Excellent communication abilities for supporting parents and caregivers in their children’s development
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to students enrolled in Head Start and Early Head Start programs
- Collaborate closely with district teams on IEP planning and implementation
- Travel between up to three assigned sites, while maintaining a home base for resources and teamwork
- Offer support to home visitors serving children with specialized plans
- Engage parents in the therapy process, equipping them to champion their child’s growth
- Document progress and share insights with educational teams
