Embark on a rewarding opportunity as an Occupational Therapist serving a close-knit student population in a supportive private school environment. This contract position offers the unique chance to make a direct and meaningful impact, working onsite with just 8-9 students at a small school with about 70 students total. The assignment is full-time, with 32.5 hours per week, beginning as soon as possible and continuing through the end of the school year, with confirmed summer session and potential for renewal.
What you’ll bring:
- Active OTR/L licensure and ability to practice in Connecticut
- Prior experience in school-based, home health, and/or healthcare OT settings preferred
- Confidence in tailoring interventions for K-12 students with varied learning needs
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with teachers, parents, and support staff
- Flexibility to adapt therapeutic strategies in a small, dynamic educational setting
- Proficiency in documentation, progress reporting, and IEP participation
Your key responsibilities include:
- Delivering direct occupational therapy services to a caseload of 8-9 students
- Assessing, planning, and implementing individualized treatment goals
- Collaborating with educators and families to ensure comprehensive student support
- Monitoring and documenting progress and adapting interventions as necessary
- Participating in IEP meetings and providing professional recommendations
- Supporting generalization of occupational therapy goals throughout the school environment
