Ideal candidates bring specialized skills in providing school-based occupational therapy interventions, adapting activities to promote student participation, and working within multidisciplinary teams to support IEP goals.
Requirements:
- Master’s or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Active New Jersey state OT license
- Previous experience or strong interest in school-based therapy, particularly with PreK–4th grade students
- Solid understanding of IEP process, documentation, and progress monitoring
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, families, and other support professionals
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services as outlined in students’ IEPs
- Evaluate students to determine therapy needs and create targeted intervention plans
- Facilitate both individual and group sessions focusing on fine motor skills, sensory integration, and adaptive strategies
- Maintain thorough and timely documentation of evaluations, treatment progress, and outcomes
- Collaborate closely with teachers, paraprofessionals, and families to provide consultations and support classroom adaptations
- Participate in IEP meetings and professional development as needed
