Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program
- Valid state license as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- At least one year of recent experience, preferably in a school or pediatric environment
- Successful completion of a comprehensive background check
- Ongoing commitment to continuing education and professional development as required by state and district guidelines
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of occupational therapy services under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT)
- Plan and implement therapeutic activities tailored to individual students’ educational and developmental needs
- Monitor, document, and collaborate on students’ progress and adapt treatment approaches as necessary
- Foster effective communication with teachers, parents, and administrators to ensure coordinated care
- Maintain thorough and accurate records that meet all state and district standards
- Participate actively in ongoing training and continuing education to stay current with best practices
