Opportunity 1 offers full-time engagement for the entire school year across two elementary campuses, covering two non-concurrent leaves. This is an excellent chance to build continuity of care, work closely with staff and families, and be a vital part of each child's journey.
Opportunity 2 is a full-time maternity leave assignment at a single elementary school, running from October to April. You'll make a tangible impact during this key development period, supporting students through creative, evidence-based interventions.
Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Master's degree (or higher) in Occupational Therapy
- Current OT license valid for Illinois
- Recent experience providing OT in school settings, preferably elementary
- Strong organizational skills and comfort managing a varied caseload
- Excellent communication abilities, both with children and adults
- Passion for collaborative, multidisciplinary teamwork to serve students’ needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Evaluate students and implement IEP-driven therapy
- Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and families to develop strategies that foster student independence
- Document progress, participate in IEP meetings, and regularly assess therapy goals
- Adapt interventions for different needs and learning environments
- Promote inclusion by offering classroom strategies and teacher support
