School Occupational Therapist | Elgin, Illinois

Bring your expertise as a school-based Occupational Therapist to a dynamic educational setting in the Elgin, IL area! This impactful contract position offers the chance to support students from Pre-K through age 22 as they build skills to thrive both academically and in everyday life. You’ll enjoy a varied, full-time schedule (35-37.5 hours weekly) as you travel between multiple school sites throughout the district. Each school—elementary, middle, and high school—operates on its own daily timetable, keeping your work engaging and diverse.

Key Qualifications:

• Active Occupational Therapy license issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
• Current Illinois licensure (required)
• Previous experience in school-based OT settings is highly preferred
• Willingness to complete required background and fingerprinting checks promptly
• Strong ability to collaborate with educators, administrators, and families
• Enthusiastic about serving a broad age range, including transition-aged students up to 22

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct OT services to students according to IEPs, adjusting support for individual strengths and needs
• Conduct assessments and contribute to the development of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Travel between assigned school sites within the district as an itinerant therapist
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote student independence and participation in school activities
• Document progress and maintain compliance with state and federal guidelines
