This full-time contract position allows you to use your expertise as an Occupational Therapist, promoting student success from early childhood through transition age (up to 22 years). As an itinerant OT, you’ll impact a diverse group of learners, collaborating with staff at elementary, middle, and high schools. Workdays range from 7 to 7.5 hours within the 35-37.5 hour weekly schedule, varying with school bell times.
Qualifications:
- Hold a current clinical license from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
- Possess an active educator license from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE)
- Previous school-based Occupational Therapy experience is preferred
- Must be detail-oriented and comfortable traveling between multiple school sites
- Completion of fingerprint-based credentialing (time-sensitive)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively partner with educational teams
Your Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and assess students’ needs for occupational therapy, maintaining a flexible approach to varying caseloads
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans to support academic and functional goals
- Document treatment sessions, progress, and collaborate on educational plans (IEPs)
- Deliver direct and consultative OT services in classroom and small group settings
- Engage with students, families, and staff to foster inclusive, supportive learning environments
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a multidisciplinary approach to student success
