Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as a School Occupational Therapist, providing essential support to students in an educational setting near Elizabeth, NJ. As an Occupational Therapist in this school-based position, you will provide services six times a month for 25 minutes per session. The environment encourages a holistic approach to student care, integrating both school and home health techniques to promote independence and success in daily activities.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Valid Occupational Therapist license (OT) in the state of New Jersey or eligibility for licensure
- Experience working in schools and/or home health settings preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with staff, students, and families
- Ability to adapt therapy plans to meet diverse learning and developmental needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct occupational therapy services in a school setting according to student IEPs and established schedules
- Complete thorough assessments and develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each student’s goals
- Track student progress, document sessions, and maintain accurate records in compliance with local and federal regulations
- Consult with teachers, families, and other specialists to maximize the impact of therapy interventions
- Participate in team meetings and provide recommendations for student accommodations and supports
