Your expertise will be integral in addressing a range of physical, sensory, and functional challenges. You’ll create individualized treatment plans, work closely with educators and families, and champion accessibility and participation for every student.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license to practice in the state
- Previous experience providing OT services in a school environment preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Ability to assess student needs and deliver specialized interventions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a caseload efficiently
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and develop student-centered goals designed to foster independence and participation in the classroom
- Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services, both in individual and group settings
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to share strategies and recommendations
- Document progress, maintain records, and participate in IEP meetings
- Adapt activities and environments to promote equal access and success for students
- Stay current with the best practices in school-based OT
