Step into a vital educational setting providing essential therapy services to children in a supportive, collaborative environment. This full-time, on-site opportunity serves elementary students (ages 3 through 5th grade) across a well-regarded district, where four occupational therapists will work closely with school teams, administrators, and a dedicated support network.
The contract is scheduled from August 10, 2026, through June 8, 2027, with a consistent 35-hour workweek. Each therapist may cover multiple sites, depending on team discussion and assignment at the interview stage. The caseloads vary and emphasize academic life skills for students with high-level autism, communication needs, and behavioral challenges—supported by experienced district mentors and behavioral supports.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Maryland OT license required
- Previous experience in school-based occupational therapy strongly preferred
- Skilled in providing services for students with autism, communication, and behavioral needs
- Strong organizational and time-management skills; self-starter who can develop and adjust daily schedules
- Comfortable working in multiple school settings, adaptable to changing caseloads
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and indirect services to students, with a focus on functional and academic life skills
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop and implement IEPs and intervention plans
- Document services and progress per school and district protocols
- Design and schedule therapy sessions (21 hours direct service/week), coordinating with site leadership
- Engage with the district’s strong mentorship program for professional growth
