Ideal candidates can choose between full-time or part-time schedules. Part-time preference leans toward working Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, totaling approximately 30 hours per week. Rather than managing a dedicated caseload, you’ll play a crucial role in assisting with make-up therapy sessions within an established schedule, ensuring continuity of care for students.
Key responsibilities:
- Implementing therapeutic interventions as an OT or COTA within school-based settings.
- Supporting students primarily through push-in groups during Art and Life Skills classes.
- Coordinating make-up sessions and engaging students in their daily learning environments.
- Participating in a schedule where Wednesdays are half-days for students, with afternoons reserved for documentation, meetings, and professional collaboration.
- Ensuring best practices in school-based therapy and contributing to a positive, inclusive environment.
- Working on a year-round school schedule, offering consistency for both students and staff.
Qualifications:
- Active Maryland licensure as an Occupational Therapist or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
- Previous experience working in a school setting is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills with a collaborative and flexible approach to service delivery.
- Comfort with push-in and group-based therapy models.
- Willingness to attend an onsite interview to tour the school and meet the student population prior to accepting the position.
