Occupational Therapist (OT) – School-Based | Full-Time | Ellicott City, MD

Howard County School District is seeking 4 full-time Occupational Therapists to provide services to elementary-aged students in a collaborative environment with excellent mentorship and district support. Position Overview

• Position: Occupational Therapist (OT)
• Location: Ellicott City, MD 21042
• School Year: August 10, 2026 – June 8, 2027
• Employment Type: Full-Time Contract
• Hours: 35 hours per week
• Openings: 4
• Setting: On-site only

Student Population

• Elementary students (Ages 3 through 5th Grade)
• Caseload varies
• May provide services across multiple school sites (discussed during the interview process)

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy services to students with a variety of educational needs
• Support students in Academic Life Skills programs
• Work with students with:
  • High-level Autism
  • Communication needs
  • Behavioral needs (district behavioral supports available)
• Collaborate with teachers, special education teams, and families to promote student success

Schedule

• Therapists create their own schedules based on student caseloads with approval from the building administrator
• No fixed daily start or end time
• Approximately 21 hours per week dedicated to direct student services

Compensation

• Occupational Therapist (OT): $48–$52/hour
• Strong Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) considered: $30–$40/hour

Qualifications

• Active Maryland Occupational Therapy license required
• On-site availability required
• Strong COTAs are encouraged to apply
