School Occupational Therapist | Elm City, North Carolina

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students for the 2026/2027 school year as a full-time Occupational Therapist. This position is ideal for professionals dedicated to helping students achieve their fullest potential through exceptional therapy services.

In this role, you’ll work 32 hours per week, serving three schools in the Elm City, NC area. Your primary responsibilities will include providing both direct and consultative occupational therapy services to a caseload of approximately 35 students. Of these, 25 students will receive direct services and 10 will benefit from your consultative expertise. Two of your assigned schools are conveniently located on the same campus, while the third is a short drive away.

As an integral member of the team, you’ll also participate in play-based assessments (TPBA) for preschool-aged students one day each week, collaborating with educators and families to support early childhood development. Your work will help shape accessible, engaging learning environments for students with varying needs.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid licensure as an Occupational Therapist
• Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting strongly preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to provide evaluations, develop individualized treatment plans, and deliver both direct and consultative services
• Comfort working with elementary and preschool-aged students

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate students for occupational therapy needs and develop targeted treatment plans
• Deliver individualized and group therapy, adapting techniques to diverse student needs
• Collaborate with school staff, special education teams, and families
• Maintain timely, accurate documentation of services and progress
• Contribute to the TPBA team for preschool assessments one day each week
