Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a dedicated Occupational Therapist for the 2026-2027 academic year. In this full-time role, you’ll deliver expert OT services within a dynamic educational environment, focusing on helping students enhance their learning participation and achieve their goals. The placement lasts until an internal hire is made, presenting a meaningful chance to impact young lives throughout the school year.
You’ll collaborate closely with teachers and school teams to identify functional needs, develop tailored interventions, and support students in achieving success across school settings. Your expertise will foster students’ independence and inclusion.
Qualifications:
- Active New York State license as an Occupational Therapist (required)
- Strong background in school-based OT practice
- Skill in assessing student function and designing effective intervention plans
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary educational teams
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Flexible approach to adapting to evolving caseloads and school needs
Responsibilities:
- Conduct OT evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans for students
- Provide direct services and support in accordance with IEPs and educational goals
- Document all sessions and communicate progress to teachers and families
- Advise on adaptive equipment and classroom modifications as needed
- Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and ongoing professional development
- Support students in developing fine motor, sensory integration, and self-care skills to optimize participation
Anticipate a start date of September 8, 2026, with a full-time Monday through Friday schedule. Specific school assignments and caseload details will be determined upon confirmation.
