Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting elementary students in the Darlington and Hartsville areas as a dedicated school-based Occupational Therapist. Your expertise will play a vital role in nurturing young learners and advancing their development. This assignment focuses on providing compassionate, evidence-based OT services to a caseload of approximately 50-60 students, including those on consult services. Placement will be determined at the beginning of the year, with strong need in Hartsville (serving schools such as Southside Early Childhood Center, Carolina Elementary School, and Thornwell Elementary) and Darlington area schools.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution
- Current OT licensure for South Carolina, or eligibility for licensure
- Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting strongly preferred
- Proficiency with IEP processes and multidisciplinary collaboration
- Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills
Responsibilities:
- Deliver OT services to students per Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Complete Medicaid billing documentation accurately and timely
- Collaborate on IEPs, including present levels, progress reports, and development of OT goals
- Liaise with teachers, families, and educational staff to support each student’s learning environment
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting interventions as necessary
