Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program
- Valid state license as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- At least one year of recent experience, preferably in a school or pediatric setting
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and meeting state/district continuing education requirements
Responsibilities:
- Support and implement occupational therapy services under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT)
- Facilitate therapeutic activities, interventions, and programs designed to promote student success
- Collect data, document progress, and collaborate with the OT to adapt treatment plans as needed
- Work alongside teachers, administrators, and families to ensure students’ needs are addressed
- Maintain compliance with state and district documentation requirements
- Actively engage in professional learning opportunities to remain current with best practices
