Occupational Therapist School Setting in Franklin, VA

Discover a contract opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist passionate about supporting students from elementary through high school. This role involves serving seven schools, including one high school, two middle schools, and four elementary schools, all within a vibrant northern borough community. You will provide direct services and also have a leadership component, collaborating with and supervising two talented Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) who work across your assigned sites.

Desired Skills & Experience:

• Valid Occupational Therapist licensure
• Prior experience working with school-aged children, from elementary to high school
• Familiarity with educational environments and IEP development
• Strong collaboration skills for partnering with teachers, staff, and families
• Ability to supervise and mentor COTAs
• Excellent time management to effectively support multiple locations
• Effective written and verbal communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver occupational therapy services tailored to students’ needs in the educational setting
• Evaluate students and participate in creating Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams for integrated student support
• Oversee and guide two COTAs, providing mentorship and ensuring quality care
• Adapt and modify learning environments and materials for increased student participation
• Contribute to ongoing student assessments and progress reports
• Travel among assigned schools within the northern borough
