An opportunity is available for a dedicated Occupational Therapist to provide services at two school sites in the San Jose area on a full-time contract basis. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful difference for students with developmental needs in a supportive educational environment. The position begins as soon as possible and runs through June 11. This is an onsite-only role, with no virtual or hybrid option.
Qualifications:
- Current Occupational Therapist license for California or eligibility to obtain one as per the California Occupational Therapy Practice Act
- Minimum of two years’ experience in pediatric therapy, with a primary focus on developmental disabilities
- Previous work within a school or educational setting strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and families
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess students’ needs and develop treatment plans tailored to their individual educational goals
- Deliver direct therapy to students to support their academic and functional independence
- Document progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with school and legal requirements
- Consult with educators, parents, and other staff to implement effective strategies for student success
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide expert recommendations for accommodations and services
- Facilitate skill-building and adaptive strategies for students across school settings
