Occupational Therapist School Setting in Glendale Heights, IL

Opportunity One offers coverage for two non-concurrent leaves at elementary schools for an entire school year, ensuring consistent support for students and staff. Opportunity Two covers a full-time maternity leave (October to April) at an elementary school, providing critical continuity of care to young learners.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Active Occupational Therapist license in Illinois
• Previous experience in school-based OT preferred
• Comfortable working with elementary-aged children
• Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
• Ability to manage caseloads efficiently and adapt to changing needs
• Commitment to fostering student independence and participation

Primary Responsibilities:

• Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families
• Deliver direct and consultative OT services within the classroom setting
• Document progress, maintain required records, and participate in IEP meetings
• Adapt strategies and materials to meet students’ unique needs
• Support students in achieving IEP goals and functional milestones
• Serve as a resource to school staff on best practices in supporting student occupational engagement
