Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid Occupational Therapist licensure in Illinois
  • Previous experience in a school or pediatric environment strongly preferred
  • Comprehensive knowledge of OT assessment tools and interventions tailored for school-aged children
  • Strong skills in completing thorough OT evaluations and effective documentation
  • Ability to work independently with students and communicate well with a multidisciplinary team

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed occupational therapy evaluations (OT EVAL) for students as referred by the special education team
  • Assess fine motor, sensory processing, and self-help skills to inform individualized education plans
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff on student needs and individualized intervention planning
  • Document evaluation findings and progress according to school and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in IEP meetings, providing recommendations and supporting goal development for student success
  • Develop targeted interventions to enhance participation and access in the educational environment
