Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid Occupational Therapy license, or eligibility in Indiana
  • Experience working with elementary age children, especially within school settings
  • Strong communication skills to engage with students, families, and colleagues effectively
  • Ability to assess, plan, and implement therapy rooted in educational best practices
  • High level of organization and adaptability for managing caseloads and documentation

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for elementary students
  • Deliver direct occupational therapy services to students, focusing on fine motor skills, sensory processing, and activities of daily living relevant to academic achievement
  • Collaborate closely with classroom teachers and special education teams to integrate therapy goals into the learning environment
  • Monitor and document student progress, adapting interventions as needed
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal-setting for student success
  • Communicate proactively with families, providing resources and support as necessary
