Key Qualifications and Expertise:
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Active OT license in Mississippi (or eligibility to obtain)
- Solid understanding of school-based OT practices, including IEP development and progress monitoring
- Effective communication skills with students, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Ability to adapt interventions to meet varied student needs across different ages and backgrounds
- Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assess students’ functional abilities, motor skills, and sensory needs within the school setting
- Design and implement individualized treatment plans to support academic and daily living goals
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop strategies for classroom participation
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student goal setting
- Maintain documentation, progress notes, and compliance with state and federal regulations
- Educate staff and families on adaptive equipment and techniques as needed
