This assignment is scheduled from October 2026 to March 1, 2027, and offers the flexibility of working 2-3 days each week—ideal for those balancing professional and personal commitments. Your role will be essential in helping students maximize their participation and independence within the educational setting.
Desired Background & Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Valid OT licensure in Connecticut
- Previous school-based OT experience strongly preferred—K-12 background especially valuable
- Ability to adapt therapy strategies for students of varying ages and needs
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with staff and families
- Strong organizational skills to efficiently manage a caseload spanning multiple sites
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide occupational therapy services to students across K-12 in accordance with IEP goals
- Collaborate closely with teachers, special educators, and support staff to facilitate access to the curriculum
- Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and monitor student progress
- Participate in IEP meetings, providing documentation and recommendations
- Deliver both direct services and consultative support tailored to individual student needs
- Travel between schools within the district as required
