School Occupational Therapist | Hamtramck, Michigan

Key Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
• Valid OT license for practice in Michigan
• Previous experience in a school-based setting strongly preferred
• Ability to independently manage a caseload—no COTA supervision available
• Strong communication and organizational skills to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
• Commitment to fostering student independence, participation, and success

Core Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for students ages PreK–12
• Develop and implement individualized intervention plans centered on students’ educational needs
• Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and families to integrate OT strategies within classroom routines
• Monitor, document, and report on student progress, adjusting support as needed
• Attend IEP meetings and contribute expert recommendations for student accommodations
• Provide training and consultation to staff to best support students’ participation and progress
• Maintain accurate, timely records in accordance with district and state guidelines

Contract Details:

• Full-time, 32.5 hours per week
• Term runs ASAP through June 18, 2027
• Onsite position across multiple school locations, serving a caseload of 30–40 students
