Certified Grades 9 - 12 School Occupational Therapist | Hawthorne, New York

This contract role runs from as soon as possible through the end of the school year in June 2026, serving students across a broad age range (5-21 years) diagnosed with autism. You'll support learners from Kindergarten through 12th grade, nurturing their potential and promoting greater independence through targeted interventions and creative support strategies.

What We’re Looking For:

• Valid Occupational Therapy certification
• Experience working with school-aged children and adolescents (grades K–12)
• Prior work with students diagnosed with autism preferred
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and families
• Creative approach to therapy and adaptive techniques
• Passion for encouraging growth, participation, and confidence in every student

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized therapy plans to help students succeed in varied learning environments
• Assess fine motor, sensory processing, and daily living needs to inform support strategies
• Collaborate closely with teachers, special education staff, and families to achieve shared student goals
• Maintain comprehensive documentation in accordance with school and professional standards
• Offer adaptive equipment recommendations and environmental modifications as needed
• Empower students to build self-advocacy and life skills
