Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid and current Occupational Therapy license for the state of Virginia
- Previous pediatric or school-based OT experience preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to collaborate with teachers, parents, and other support staff
- Familiarity with IEP processes and documentation requirements
- Compassionate, flexible, and resourceful mindset
- Commitment to empowering students to reach their full potential
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations and develop individualized therapy plans to address students’ needs
- Deliver direct occupational therapy services in accordance with IEP goals
- Collaborate closely with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of student goals
- Maintain up-to-date and thorough documentation of services and student progress
- Offer consultative support to staff and families regarding accommodations and strategies within the school setting
- Monitor student outcomes and adjust interventions as needed
