This full-time contract opportunity, running from September through June, calls for a skilled OT to help support both MTSS and general education students in a collaborative, student-centered setting.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license for New York State
- Experience working in school-based settings preferred
- Strong understanding of MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports) practices
- Ability to adapt interventions for general education students
- Excellent communication skills to partner with staff and families
- Collaborative spirit to share therapy space and coordinate with PT
- Commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment for all students
What You'll Do:
- Deliver occupational therapy to a diverse caseload, averaging 8 sessions each day
- Provide services from 8:00 am–3:00 pm, Monday through Friday (37.5 hours per week)
- Participate in team meetings, including a preparatory day on September 2 before the first day with students
- Design and implement individualized and group interventions in alignment with MTSS
- Document progress, write reports, and communicate effectively with school stakeholders
- Share therapy space with a physical therapist to promote holistic student support
- Participate in professional development activities and school functions as required
- Bill for services on snow days, ensuring continuity and reliability in therapy provision
