Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting K–12 students as a school-based Occupational Therapist this summer. In this flexible contract role, you’ll provide essential OT services to an engaging caseload near Hyannis, MA. Enjoy a summer schedule that allows you to make a difference in just a few hours a week—ideal for those seeking work-life balance or supplementing existing commitments.
Your talents will support approximately 26 students, each receiving one 30-minute session—sessions can be grouped for efficiency and collaboration. All student materials are prepared in advance by their previous school OTs, allowing you to focus on meaningful, hands-on therapeutic work. You’ll also benefit from dedicated planning and prep time—15 minutes before sessions begin and 15 minutes at the end of your day.
Qualifications:
- Active Occupational Therapist license in Massachusetts
- Experience delivering OT services in K–12 educational settings
- Strong understanding of school-based OT practices, documentation, and IEPs
- Ability to work independently, manage diverse student needs, and foster positive relationships
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct occupational therapy to K–12 students as outlined in IEPs
- Complete relevant documentation and progress reports in a timely manner
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families as needed for student success
- Utilize provided materials to implement effective, individualized therapy
- Participate in the team process for Extended School Year (ESY) services
