Occupational Therapist School Setting in Hyattsville, MD

A full-time Occupational Therapist position is available on a contract basis to support students through the end of the current school year. This role is located in Hyattsville, MD, with assignment details pending among several elementary schools, including Suitland ES, Rosaryville ES, and Capital Heights ES. Both Suitland and Rosaryville schools have specialized Autism programs, offering an opportunity to work with diverse student populations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide occupational therapy services tailored to the educational needs of students.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
• Support students, particularly those in Autism programs, with therapeutic interventions aimed at improving functional skills and school participation.
• Document therapy sessions, progress, and maintain accurate records.
• Adapt treatment strategies to align with each student’s learning environment.

Qualifications/Experience:

• Valid Occupational Therapy license.
• Experience working within school settings, preferably with familiarity with Autism programs.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to handle caseload management and documentation efficiently.
